Saturn Rendezvous
Astronaut Rae Anne Chavez's rescue from Saturn orbit by the alien battlecruiser Avenger initiates First Contact between Humans and Shalcerians. The aliens enlist Rae Anne to be their liaison with Earth.
The Shalcerians offer to share their advanced technology to save humanity from the ravages of climate change, but their accompanying demands create rifts across Earth's geopolitical spectrum. Worldwide protests, in turn, bring out the aliens' darker side.
Rae Anne is torn between her desire for Humans to accept Shalcerian technology and her commitment to preserve humanities freedom. Can she devise a course that achieves cooperation with the aliens while avoiding imperial domination by an interstellar empire?
With unintended consequences and hidden agendas, First Contact turns out far different than anyone could have imagined.
5-Star Review for
Saturn Conundrum

The reviewer, Scott Cahan, writes:
Saturn Conundrum is one of those rare science fiction novels that is so well-researched and grounded in real science that it feels like this scenario could really happen. Anyone who has paid attention to past and modern-day space exploration on television news or documentaries will easily see the way this story is extrapolated from those real-life accounts. It takes familiar images and thrusts them 13 years into the future, allowing the author to take a few scientific liberties that don’t seem all that far-fetched, to be honest. On top of that, Dan Bishop added just the right amount of danger to keep readers on the edge of their seats. The other thing that I loved about Saturn Conundrum was the way it humanizes the story through wonderful characters. Several of the astronauts are given rich, yet unique personalities. Rae Anne Chavez is described so brilliantly, inside and out, that I couldn’t help but feel connected to her and be deeply concerned for her as I followed her story. Saturn Conundrum is a beautifully crafted novel of hard science fiction about great characters that I highly recommend. I loved every bit of this story.
